An unexpected delivery

We use sheep every year to graze the reserve for a few weeks before Spring to cut back the previous year's growth, Their job is quite simple - eat, move a little, and then eat some more.. Giving birth is not part of the plan.

However it does occasionally happen!

Sally was lookering (checking that the flock were ok) when she noticed this very recently born lamb,. Although it initially looked ok Sally became increasingly concerned for its well-being and contacted the shepherd who duly took the sheep and lamb back to his farm.

Mother and baby are reported to be doing well.
